Selected Flavours of the Karst
The Štoka farm is located in Krajna Vas. It is about over 200 years old tradition of winemaking. At this old homestead, the sixth generation has been cultivating wine, just as our ancestors did.
The Štoka wine tradition is over 200 years old. The family begin the tradition of winemaking in the old house with a small winecellar in Krajna vas.
Later in 1994 they moved into the new location in Krajna vas where now they live and have the new and bigger winecellar, where they tell the Štoka story. The estate is located at an altitude of 250–270 metres, in the Karst wine-growing region. The tradition of viticulture has been passed down through six generations.
The farm covers 30 hectares, including 8 hectares of vineyards, where around 45,000 vines are cultivated. Of these, 70% are Refosco grapes, from which we produce Teran on the Karst’s distinctive soil. The remaining vineyards include 15% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5% Merlot and 5% Chardonnay. The rest is planted with Malvasia and the old indigenous variety Vitovska Grganja.
