Tradition since 1989

The Štoka brand was first introduced to the wider market in 1989, when we began bottling our wines. Before that, our old farm produced only open (bulk) wine.

In 1991, we started building a new homestead in the village, at a new location. There, we created three underground vaulted cellars, carved directly into the living rock, where our wines mature. The cellar capacity is approximately 80,000 litres, and the total cellar area covers 350 m². The cellars maintain a constant temperature throughout the year, around 16°C.

Our cellar is also a home to a truly special and unique barrel: a barrel carved from a single piece of stone, crafted by a local stonemason according to the original concept and instructions. In this stone barrel, Vitovska Grganja matures into one of our most distinctive wines caled LAPIS.

In 2004, we also arranged a tasting room at the same location, accommodating up to 45 guests, where you can taste our wines.

We mainly produce Teran, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Malvasia, Vitovska Grganja and Chardonnay, and a few years ago we also began producing sparkling wines. Our sparkling wines are made using the traditional method and mature for at least three years in a natural Karst cave, at a constant temperature near our homestead.

For those who enjoy stronger spirits, we also produce Teran brandy (vinjak).

We regularly take part in wine festivals and competitions with our wines. We are especially proud of the following awards received by our wines and sparkling wines:

Today, the farm covers approximately 30 hectares, of which 8 hectares are vineyards, home to around 45,000 vines.

Our vineyards are not located in just one area, but are spread across several nearby locations. Our largest vineyard is in Krajna Vas, known as Brdo. During harvest season, all grapes are picked by hand, which ensures higher quality and allows us to select only the very best bunches from the vines.

We mainly produce Teran, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Malvasia, Vitovska Grganja and Chardonnay, and a few years ago we also began producing sparkling wines.
