Carsus
Dry, 12,5 - 13%
The Karst entered history under its Roman name CARSUS. The word is of ancient origin and derives from the root kara, meaning stone.
A symbolically powerful name for a wine with a strong character, Carsus is a blend of three varieties: Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Teran. The grapes for this wine are harvested from our best vineyard sites, and only the finest grapes become part of the Carsus story.
We maintain its quality by releasing only the best vintages. The wine reveals flavours of soft, elegant tannins, and aromas of vanilla, coffee and chocolate. Its deep dark red-brown colour harmoniously blends with the noble oak notes gained through ageing, while its freshness is given by a true Karst specialty — Teran.
Priporočamo ob: all types of red meat, stronger aged cheeses, Karst prosciutto and other cured meats. It also pairs beautifully with chocolate desserts combined with forest berries.
Zvrst: Dry
Sorta: approx. 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 35% Merlot, 15% Teran
Vinifikacija: Each variety used in Carsus is macerated separately using the traditional method specific to that grape in our cellar. The wines then age separately in oak barrels for 6 years (Teran in large oak casks; Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon in used barrique barrels). Before bottling, the wines are blended in proportions that depend on the vintage.
